Boosting Disaster Response: Nueva Vizcaya Equips MDRRMOs with Motorcycles

In Nueva Vizcaya, the Provincial Local Government Unit has taken a significant step in disaster preparedness by distributing motorcycles to Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officers (MDRRMOs). With an allocation of P2.3 million from the 2022 Local Disaster Risk Reduction Fund, the purchase of these motorcycles enhances the logistical capabilities of MDRRMOs, enabling more effective emergency response in communities.

During a flag-raising program at the provincial capitol, Governor Jose Gambito and Vice Governor Eufemia Dacayo led the distribution of 14 motorcycles to MDRRMOs. This initiative is part of the provincial government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen disaster risk reduction management at the grassroots level.

According to King Webster Balaw-ing, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management officer, additional motorcycles for MDRRMO personnel are already being procured. This logistical support aligns with the province’s commitment to effective disaster management and preparedness.

Governor Gambito emphasized the importance of equipping MDRRMOs with the necessary assets and resources to enhance disaster response capabilities across the province. Distributing motorcycles is just one aspect of the Provincial LGU’s comprehensive plan to support MDRRMOs in their critical work, contributing to building resilient communities prepared to face disasters effectively.
